This Privacy Policy explains how Rathod Taxi Service ("we", "us", "our"), operated by Sameer Rathod and based in Somnath, Gujarat, India, collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use our website (rathodcabsomnath.com) or book a cab with us. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian laws. For the purpose of the DPDP Act, Rathod Taxi Service is the Data Fiduciary and you are the Data Principal.

1. Information We Collect

When you submit a booking request or contact us, we may collect the following personal data:

  • Your name
  • Mobile / phone number
  • Pickup location and destination
  • Travel date and number of passengers
  • Vehicle preference and any special requirements you share

We do not ask for or store sensitive financial information such as card, bank or UPI credentials on this website. Payments, if any, are made via UPI or other digital modes at the time of service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data only for the following purposes:

  • To process and confirm your cab booking request
  • To contact you regarding your trip, fare, driver details or schedule
  • To provide customer support and respond to your enquiries
  • To improve our services and respond to feedback

3. Legal Basis & Consent

We process your personal data based on the consent you provide when you tick the consent box and submit the booking form, in line with Section 6 of the DPDP Act. Your booking details are sent to us through WhatsApp using your own messaging app, so the information you share is transmitted directly to our business number (+91 9638997868). You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (see Section 9).

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party. Your details may only be shared with the assigned driver of your trip so that your journey can be fulfilled. We may disclose information if required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.

5. Data Retention

We retain your booking information for up to 1 year from the booking date, or for as long as required by applicable law, whichever is longer. After this period — or once the data is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected — it is deleted, in accordance with the DPDP Act.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet (including WhatsApp) is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies & Analytics

This website does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. To understand overall website usage (such as page views), we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and cookieless — it does not store cookies on your device or collect personally identifiable information, and it does not track you across other websites. Only aggregated, anonymous usage data is recorded. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.

8. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or update of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request erasure of your personal data
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of incapacity or death
  • Raise a grievance with us regarding the handling of your data
